Each spring, with the release of the new issue of Bartleby, we announce one $100 winner from each of our categories–fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and art. The winners are chosen by Bartleby‘s staff, from among all the submissions sent to Bartleby for consideration for the new issue.
All submissions are anonymous when the staff reads them. Bartleby staff members are not eligible for these awards.
The awards are announced at the annual Bartleby release celebration in April. A person could win in more than one category, although so far this has never happened yet. The English Department generously funds the three writing prizes, and Visual Arts funds the art prize.
All you need to do to be considered for these prizes is submit your work to Bartleby!
